Christmas Hampers 2022

Thank you for spreading some Christmas cheer to our local community

This is the 3rd year that Botley Bridges has initiated and coordinated the local hampers and food boxes for families on low income in the Botley, West Oxford and Cumnor area.

This is a real joint community effort with donations (both goods and money) coming from the local community, local shops and the food bank. Volunteers shopped, packed and distributed the hampers on 2 days just before Christmas and 120 were collected or delivered to local families.

Thank you so much to all the volunteers – it couldn’t happen without you.

Thanks to local private donors, and the following stores- Tesco, Waitrose , Co-op, Aldi and the Oxford Food Hub

The boxes contained a mixture of staple foods and Christmas treats as well as some small gifts. Households could request a hamper themselves and information went out from the local schools, pre-schools, social work departments, churches and the Botley Bridges network.

Botley Bridges is a local family support charity set up after the Children’s Centre was closed in 2017. We rely on parental contributions and grants and donations and our aim is to support families in the local area through a variety of ways- groups, courses and small grants to make a difference to families. You can donate on our website or contact the trustees.
